Worst Book of 2013

Hello bloggers! Seeing as I’ve already made a post about the best books of 2013 (click here to read it), it is only fitting that I write a post about the worst book of 2013.

I really haven’t read that many books that I’ve absolutely hated, or disliked, but this book was so bad it caused me to throw it into a wall. Absolutely hated it.

So, without further ado, I present:

Allegiant by Veronica Roth!

I was so utterly disappointed when I read this book. I loved Divergent; I thought it was utterly brilliant,  I wrote fanfiction about it, and simply couldn’t stop thinking about it. The second book was kind of alright; it wasn’t epic, like the first one, but it didn’t, for lack of a better word, suck.

Allegiant, however, was awful. You could really tell how Veronica Roth was trying to be different when she wrote it, the ending, particularly so, but she didn’t succeeded, resulting in the book feeling weird and awkward and, well, forced. I was, and still am, so disappointed.

This next comment is only for the people who have read the book. SPOILER ALERT! Who in  their right mind kills their main character after a trilogy? It should be illegal, or something. I can almost understand why she did it, but NO! It is  a cruel thing to do to readers. END OF SPOILER!

So, don’t read this book.

And have a Merry Christmas.

/Emilia
