Hello everyone! So… has it been three months? It has been three months. I have no excuse. I know, I know – I might just be one of the worst bloggers when it comes to consistent updates. I just… school has been super busy, and then I did Camp NaNoWriMo in April – which I won YAY! – and then… yeah.
But I am back, so without further ado, here are all the books that I bought in June!
Fairest by Marissa Meyer
So this is the prequel novella that describes what happened to Queen Levena pre-Cinder. I have already read this book, and I am going to put up a review soon, but I thought that it was really interesting, and it provided a lot of insightful things on Levana as a character, but there were a couple of cringe moments that made me uncomfortable.
Lux: Consequences and Lux: Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout
So, I know that these are three books, and not one, but I figured that I would just lump them together, because they are books two and three of Lux, and I read them back to back. I really liked these conclusions, and Daemon is perfect. Just… anything Armentrout writes is pretty perfect.
The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead
And thus concludes what is, basically, a TWELVE book series. Again, this is also a book that I’ve already read (I really couldn’t stop myself) and I am so happy that I did. I would have liked some more Sydney and Adrian moments, sure, but I thought that it was a really nice conclusion. And I certainly didn’t expect the direction the book took.
The Heir by Kiera Cass
I wasn’t going to buy this book, but then I saw it in the bookstore, and then… yeah, I bought it. I didn’t even want it, and now I have already read it. But you know what? It was an okay read. Especially considering how much I was expecting to not-like it.
The Vampire Shrink by Lynda Hilburn
Just… yeah, I got this book on sale for like R50 ($4) and it wasn’t… no, it was not that great. Just plain awkward, I don’t even want to talk about this book too much. The romance in this book is just about one of the weirdest I have ever read.
The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness
My mom decided to be a sweetheart, and she bought me this book a few days ago, because she found the edition that I wanted. Hands down, I love my mom. She is the best. I haven’t read this one, but my best friend has, and she thinks that it was pretty good. I am going to read it, talk about it with Sofia, and then get back to you with a review!
The Ghosts of Heaven by Marcus Sedgwick
I almost forgot to include this one! I know absolutely nothing, I just thought that the cover was pretty when I bought it. I am probably going to start reading it tomorrow, and I am excited for it!
So, I got a total of nine books in June. I have been trying to cut back on the amount of books that I buy, so that considered, I think that I have done a pretty good job. And I didn’t buy all of these books myself, and some I got on sale, so I am pleased.
Stay tuned for my July TBR, and have a wonderfully bookish day!
